I painted “A Colorful Lounge” because I have always felt and known that women of color do not get as much representation in the media and the beauty industry as their peers and when I saw this beautiful black woman in a magazine ad I had to paint her. All of the colors around her compliment her skin and her beauty. Women of color should embrace how beautiful they are. The way the light and different colors can play on their skin is a work of art !
